We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Amsterdam. Main Responsibilities:
- Review financial data recorded by the Property Accountant
- Manage day-to-day accounting support functions for Dutch entities: create month-end accounting entries, reconcile discrepancies, and post to the General Ledger
- Verify the accuracy of journal entries and assigned accounting classifications and coordinate payments
- Prepare key Balance Sheet reconciliations and review those done by others
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and other client reporting
- Prepare statutory reporting and perform financial controls on financial statements
- Support the VAT processes and liquidity forecasts
- Assist in audit processes
- Participate in project groups
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience
- Operational knowledge of Dutch GAAP, IFRS, and general accounting principles
- Experience in preparing financial statements
- Strong analytical skills and a critical attitude
- Excellent communication and social skills
- Accurate, independent, proactive, solution-oriented, and a team player
- Fluent in English; Dutch is strongly preferred but not a must
- Knowledge of ERP systems is preferred
